OK.. prepare yourselves for my mind dump.
Sitting in the back, I didn't think the DC crowd was that bad. From past stories I've heard, I thought they were pretty tame. It almost seems a little encouraged b/c the guys play off it so well. Plus some people just don't the hint that when the guys say to shut up, in some cases they might not be joking.
Some dude in the audience told the audience to "
shut the 'uck up"
and let them do their job or something along those lines. That's when Bret was like, "
What did you say? Did you tell us to shut the 'uck up?"
Agree with Sara and Sheila, definitely didn't seem to be any attempt of a 2nd encore. I'd say 98% of us were still there and the lights just came up.
Songs-- I can't remember them all probably, or the order, so I'll do by season:
Season 1:
Most Beautiful Girl
Mutha Uckers
I'm Not Crying
Business Time
If You're Into It
Robots (encore)
Hip vs Rhym (encore)
Season 2:
Too Many Dicks (opener)
Hurt Feelings
Prostitute (which I think was my favorite of the night. I'm going to marry Bret's voice one day)
Carol Brown
Both in Love with a Sexy Lady that ran into Sugalumps (last song before encore)
Other:
Stana
Jenny
Bus Driver's Song (2nd song of encore!)
I'm sure I'm forgetting a song or two... that how my brain works.
I didn't realize Bret was sick, but I did think he looked tired (especially at the end). Keep in mind I was far, far away and could only see his face in the projector screen. His voice was amazing during Prostitute though.
Jemaine shushing the audience like we were babies was pretty funny. Bret told us that he had to do that 45 minutes in Atlanta.
They told us that we are better off not trying than trying and failing. Bret said, "
DC -- No you can't."
(Like the Obama slogan yes you can), but then afterwards he said that was too negative of him to say. hehe... they said this after a failed attempt to get us to sing along to Mutha Uckers and then after something else which I already forget.
hmm.. I'll post more as I think of it.
Add: For some reason when I typed f-uck, it came up as 'uck.

Jemaine shushing us was pretty awesome. Too cute and too funny.
Is it bad that I really wanted to yell at Jemaine that it was better for him to not try at the steel drums than to try and fail? When they were chastising us for trying and sucking I thought we hadn't done that badly.

Oh yeah! The steel drums part was funny!
Jemaine was supposed to play them at the end of Prostitute, but as he said, "
I came in too early and then played the wrong notes."
So none of us actually heard him play.

Sara -- Was that you when Jemaine said that Nigel had at least one fan? I heard someone yell out for him?

I might be getting a new camera if my pics look that good. Mine and my friend's were all lame and blurry. :-[ It also didn't hurt that you were in the first row, lucky. Although I'd hate to have had a sore neck and our seats were pretty sweet.

Your seats were good. I probably would have came out with better pictures a few rows back (and no sore neck), but no biggie.
All of my photos were taken at the encore, btw. The security guard just stopped giving a 'uck by then so I went for it!

Thank you Sara, Sheila and Nikki for your accounts, pictures and video. Glad the show went well apart from a few hecklers. And Sheila I'm sure you're going to meet the boys at the other shows
I feel so sorry for Bret-y, I really hope he gets better soon!

yea... the heckles died down towards the end there and jem said that he was confused at us (or something like that) because that's not how "
we"
were in the beginning of the show! then the heckles began again! it wasn't a lot of people heckling, it was a few who would not shut up! there was one guy who kept yelling "
murray"
and finally jem said, "
thats not one of our songs!"
apparently one guy yelled, "
freebird!"
and without missing a beat jem replied, "
is it the job of one person in every city to yell freebird or is it the same guy following us to all of the shows! we don't know that song in new zealand! back home people yell, 'everywhere you go you always take the weather with you!' "
i thought that was super cute but apparently the majority of the crowd wasn't as familiar with crowded house... meanwhile i was dying laughing!
given the choice between: bret and jem banter with one another, or jem and bret telling the audience to shut up in a funny way... i chose the 1st one anyday!

I didn't get why people started clapping because obviously none of them were on rhythm at all and it's not really a song to clap to anyway. I was impressed that Jemaine was actually able to get them to stop and start on command, considering he couldn't get them to shut up.

Did anyone get an extra copy of the Albi poster from last night's show? By the time the show was over and my friends and I got out of the auditorium there were already a ton of people over at the merch booth. I didn't get a really good look at the poster, but I would've probably bought one had I taken the chance.
