words can't even describe tonight, it was SO awesome. kelly, i just have to tell you meeting up with you made everything so much better. having someone there to equally appreciate the awesomeness just made this night... awesome ha!

so rundown of the show. i won't remember everything. but, they played a bunch of songs, can't remember the order but i do know it opened with too many dicks and then jenny. they also played stana, business time, robots, two lines of bret you got it going on hahaha "

sexy lady, most beautiful girl in the room, you don't have to be a prostitute, stana, sugalumps, i can't remember it all... i know they DIDN'T play bowie, ladies of the world and i cant remember all of them.

towards the end of too many dicks bret accidentally broke the toy piano and it shattered with the keys everywhere, and then his robot head fell off so they cut it short. so while bret was trying to 'fix' it i guess jemaine made up a song, it was pretty funny. they ended up throwing the keys out to the audience "
you guys should get together and make your own piano"
the whales bit was funny, someone yelled out murray and jemaine says, "
murray is a fictional character. if by murray you mean the actor rhys darby who plays murray, he's not here. he's in auckland. go there"

someone did that to kristen during her set too and she said "
mel is a fictional character. my name is kristen schaal"


and they did two encores, i don't remember which songs for which but the last one was sello tape. OHMYGOD it was awesome. it lasted forever. they encouraged us to sing and i'm pretty sure i was the only one in my section singing, i felt like a huge ass when i realized.

so on to meeting them. we waited about an hour at the stage door. and kelly overheard the security guard saying something how bret is sick and there's no way he's coming out. she said that's exactly what happened last night. so we figured we'd go look on the other side for ha ha's. if they were there awesome if not then call it a night. we go and theres a small group of people waiting by doors so we get there and literally right then someone opened the door from inside and bret was looking right at as hahaha kelly totally locked eyes. i was freaking out cause my friend had my camera on the other side i just remember being like "
kelly can you take my picture with your camera? your camera can you take it?"
haha i was freaking out and then they come out and my brother kept yelling my name cause he wanted the sharpie in my bag and jemaine looked at me several times and said "
hey! nice to see you again"
(OMFG) and i said 'sorry i didn't bring you anything this time' and he goes WHAT!! hahahaha i still can't believe he remembered me i died a little. so they signed my poster along with my friend and brother's and got a pic and after we took it jemaine asked to see how it came out so my brother showed him and he was like "
oh yeah that's a nice one"
i couldnt believe how nice they were, making sure everyone got their signatures and even making sure the picture came out good.

overall this was a great night and i'm so happy we got to meet the guys. the security guard was rushing them he was crazy but the guys didn't really seem to care, they were being really nice making sure everyone got what they wanted and i cant think of anything better than nice. i really hope this isnt the last tour!!!! when i remember more i'll post!!

Phenomenal show. Highlights for me were Too Many Dicks, Stana, Prostitute and Demon Woman.

Aw crud Kelly, I saw you on the sidewalk. I'm normally totally oblivious to people but I remember your blue coat. I saw you on the cell phone after the guard told us Bret wasn't coming out. In fact I'm the head behind you guys in your picture. Too bad I didn't know it was you and go with you guys to the other door. Jem looked so freakin' good last night it was STUPID!

Aww bummer! I wish we could have met up. Maile and I were so sneaky lol. We were waiting so long and finally like "
screw this, we aren't getting anywhere, let's go explore."
I'll be at the Philly show, so maybe I'll see you then!

Maile's account of the evening is great! I actually ended up getting a ticket on ticketmaster at 5pm yesterday 14th row center!

The highlight was the 2nd encore. The house lights came on and we thought it was over, but they were like "
no we want to get a picture of you guys, stand up!"
So everyone stands up and one of their people took a picture standing behind them on stage facing us!

Then Bret sat down at the Wurlitzer and I KNEW what was coming! This was what I was soo hoping would happen - SELLO TAPE!! I literally started tearing up. And they had everyone stand up and sing, and clap, and sway and all of the house lights were on, and you looked around and there were 6,000 people clapping and swaying (and me singing at the top of my lungs lol) it was MAGICAL!

But, yes, and Maile mentioned we passed the "
corporate exit"
door just as someone flung it open and there was Bret! I felt so dumb because I think I said pretty loudly OMG BRET! But they were super nice and took the time, didn't seem annoyed! I had the poster from Tuesday's show and Bret was like "
oh right on! this guy is a New Zealand artist!"
But some girl was talking over me so I barely got a word in edgewise haha.

When Jemaine was signing my poster I said "
the sing along tonight was amazing, it made my LIFE"
(I'm so stupid haha) and he looked at me and was like "
Oh yeah? Did you go for it? You went for it didn't you?"
and I was like "
Oh I TOTALLY went for it!"
and he said "
Yeahhh you did."
Amazing!

But yeah it was so great - and made so much better by sharing it with Maile! We were like giggling soo much afterwards and so excited! It was epic

I just can't believe how generous they are with their time. I remember reading an article with Jemaine before I saw them last year and he was talking about how annoyed he was with fame and I thought, "
Well if I ever DO get to meet them, he won't be happy about it."
Nothing could be further from the truth.

And omg Bret sounds so sweet when you were talking to him about singing along to Sellotape, Kelly. Both of you took some excellent photos- definitely something to treasure. You and the guys look very cute. I love Bret's suit and Jemaine's t-shirt, scarf and jacket ensemble! And Casey I just read your account of when you met the boys- amazing!

Haha, I absolutely love watching the Sugalumps videos. LOL at Bret when he goes 'Oh my god' when that girl tries to reach out for him
