Few people know Bret's secret dream is to be a plumber.
(My apologies to those who miss the subtle plumber/buttcrack connection).

Curious---all these posts seem to be from and about the later 10 p.m. show in DC. They did two shows at the Lisner that night: one at 7 and the next at 10. Am I the only one who went to the 7 p.m.? Well, obviously not, because there were appr. 1500 other people there! Anyway, the earlier show was a bit odd and I was wondering if anyone else thought so, or am I just taking crazy pills?? Also, did the boys do a meet and greet after the 10 p.m.? I think so, but I'd like confirmation. I looked, but I don't think they came out in the gap between shows. I REALLY wanted to meet them but it would've been just too late for us--we had to drive the four hours back to Norfolk still! Wish I'd planned better and had gotten a room for the night!
If anyone was at this earlier show, PLEASE get back to me!!

Hehe I really like it too Fallon... it's one of my faves.
Angela: I don't know if anyone on the board made it to the early show or not.. All these pictures and videos are just stuff that we found by searching online... I do know though that after every show the guys came out to meet people after... in the alley in the back. ;
) Most of the time they came out after about 45 minutes to an hour and stayed until everyone who waited got to talk to them.

Hi, I'm new here. I was at the 7:00 show too, severine999! I agree, compared to the photos and videos I've seen of the 10:00 show, the earlier one seemed a lot...different.
I hope that doesn't sound like I'm complaining- I'm not, I promise! I absolutely LOVED them, and I am so glad I got a chance to see them live, but they didn't seem as loose and relaxed as they looked to be at the late show. Maybe it's because they were trying to keep an eye on the time. When they came out for a second encore, Bret said they were already kind of in trouble for playing too late, and asked the audience to "
exit dangerously"
immediately after the song so they could clear out the theater.
I really wish I had stuck around or come back after the late show was over so I could have met the guys.

Amily: I have since found out that they did come out to meet and greet after the 10 p.m. show, but I do not think this was the case after the 7, as there wasn't enough time between shows and they would've been swarmed by not one but two shows' worth of fans!! My husband and I did look for them behind the auditorium after the 7, but the more I thought about it, the less likely it seemed that it would happen. Am still kicking myself for not planning things better so I could stick around til after the second show. Also, I've done a lot of research and have found very little footage or even mention of the first show at all. From what I've seen and heard, the second show was very different from what I experienced at the first show. Just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same!
Katiuccia: Thank you SO much for replying! This has been driving me CRAZY!!! I'm not complaining;
I love the guys too, and I'm glad I got to see them live, but that show was OFF. Many in the audience were complete jerks (including heckling! Jemaine said that was the first time they'd been heckled in the US!) and they seemed to have little patience or enthusiasm for new stuff or banter. I felt very little connection between the audience and the guys. There was no interaction between them at all--no sitting on the edge of the stage or diving out in the audience like I'd heard about at other shows. They were very stiff and awkward. Jemaine even said something at the second encore about not really being sure we'd liked them or not! I think time was definitely a factor, but the negative superjerk energy coming off the crowd probably didn't help!! I really wish I could've met the guys too to at least tell them that someone in that first crowd loves them!

You're right Angela... after you said that I do remember someone saying that they didn't come out after the early show. I guess time was a real issue for them on this night.... apparently they had an alarm clock on stage so that they wouldn't go over their time... ?

I'm so glad the "
Bret You Got it Goin On"
video is posted because that was just hilarious. I haven't seen all of the videos for the DC show, but he did say something about Beyonce. I think he likes a girl w/ some ass. Just my guess. Did that make it to youtube? Just thought I would throw that out there.
