SCENE 1:

Jem/unnamed: There's nothing here but dinosaurs.

Bret/"Rob": So?

Jem/unnamed: So our job is to exterminate all intelligent life and let our race walk supreme.

Bret/"Rob": Glory to the hive queen.

Jem/unnamed: Glory to the hive queen. This trip has been a total bust.

Bret/"Rob": Look, let's just set up this planet-busting bomb and attach it to this planet-busting bomb button.  If the creatures here ever become intelligent, they'll be sure to press it, and then they'll destroy themselves.

Jem/unnamed: Wow Rob, you know you come up with really good ideas. How do you do it?

Bret/"Rob": I don't know. They just come to me.

Jem/unnamed: You really make me feel like crap sometimes.



SCENE 2:

Bret/"Rob": And now we go back to Earth and wipe out anybody who might be left.

Jem/unnamed: I don't know why I never have good ideas like you.

Bret/"Rob": Your ideas are fine.

Jem/unnamed: No, they aren't. They're just the obvious ones.  You're better at genocide than I am.

Bret/"Rob": Fine.

Jem/unnamed: What?

Bret/"Rob": Fine. You're not very good at genocide. I'm better. You're worse. You happy?

Jem/unnamed: You know, you can be a real jerk sometimes.

Bret/"Rob": Just engage the laser cannons.

Jem/unnamed: I don't see why I always have to do it.

I've always had a slight crush on Dino Stamatopoulos (the voice of Crow), even though I've only read interviews with him.  He used to write and produce Mr. Show, but he didn't perform.  It's pretty dorky and weird to have a crush on a guy you never see on-screen, I know.

I watched this just now and thought this was hilarious!!!!

I loved the guys being in it, but I liked the show as a whole too (Drinky Crow is very Tim   )

did you guys notice the animators messed up on one bit?

It's minuscule but it confused me when I first watched it.

Bret says "Glory to the hive queen" first and Jemaine says it second but in the animation the alien on the right says Bret's line and the alien on then left says Jemaine's line. But the alien on the left is supposed to be Bret because he is the one that goes onto the ship and gets the planet-busting bomb and attach it to this planet-busting bomb button.

Like I said it's small but it confused the flip out of me when I watched it.

Confused me too! I had to go back and rewatch right away.

you're not the only one irene. i kept thinking "wait....flup...i thot jemaine was on the right....huh."

i had to watch that part 3 or 4 times.

I noticed it yesterday when I was transcribing the first scene. I wonder if they'll recut it before it airs.

I'll set my TV to record it on Nov. 23 and will report back.

I know they are earth destroying aliens but I love them anyway.  Is it strange that them being cartoon aliens makes me happy?    

From an interview with Tony Millionaire and Eric Kaplan:

Mania: I noticed in two of the 'Drinky Crow' episodes, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement (stars of the HBO series 'Flight of the Conchords') were voicing some of the characters. Are there plans to work with them more on this show or elsewhere?

Eric: We might do more stuff with Bret and Jemaine. I met  them when I was writing  on “Flight of the Conchords and they are very powerful comedic sensibilities.  They are also from New Zealand which is quite remote so their ancestors did a lot of sea-faring, which makes them great casting for a maritime show.

They didn't fix it.    Too bad they don't have us around!

They were so cute! Although it was really weird to hear their voices coming out of those little green dudes.

I remember Drinky Crow from a long time ago. A couple of shorts ran on SNL, and I still vaguely remember them. But Drinky Crow didn't speak, I don't think... There was also something about a guy sewing the top half of a mouse and the bottom half of a fish to make a mermaid, in one, and the other involved Drinky Crow bartering (with acorns, if memory serves) to eventually get a gun and shoot himself.
