LAST NIGHT A THEME SONG SAVED MY LIFE

Flight of the Conchord's [sic] Bret McKenzie knows a good tune when he hears it.

Goodnight Kiwi
This wasn't a tv show, but it had a great theme song based on a Maori lullaby. It's from the '80s, before New Zealand had 24-hour TV. This was the last thing they played each night before they turned the station off. It had an animated kiwi going to sleep in a satellite dish.  Even thinking about it makes me sleepy.

Taxi
I'm trying to learn this so I can jam it out in lonely hotel piano bars.

Soap
This is a rare, classic TV theme song. Kanye West should do a remix.

M.A.S.H.
Nothing like a depressing theme song to kick off a comedy.

Knight Rider
I like to listen to this when my car drives itself.

Heeeeee, I feel all special for knowing about "Goodnight Kiwi" because Hayley Westenra mentions it at the end of the YouTube clip of her version of "
Wuthering Heights".

I also really love depressing theme songs for comedies, but then I also really love depressing comedies.

i remember seeing the goonight kiwi on youtube.
