ASH - short film from 1995

I barely recognized Jonathan Brugh in it! (Deacon in What We Do in the Shadows)
This film records the devising of a “work in progress” by theatre director Ashley Thorndyke (Jason Hoyte). The concept — by Duncan Sarkies (Two Little Boys, Scarfies) — mocks the gamut of thesp and drama school cliches: from ‘wanky’ director to wacky warm-up exercises (animal impersonations, primal screams, Love Boat theme song). Peter Burger, fresh out of Broadcasting School, co-directs, and the willing cast is drawn from the 90s Wellington theatre scene orbiting around Bats and Victoria University. Future Conchord Jemaine Clement memorably learns to get loose.

Sorry I'm only two years late watching/replying to this. :#shy#:
Wow, you got that right! (and :#loveeyes#: )
I had to run over and make some gifs of these children right when it was finished.
Baby Jem!
And Jonathan!

....
This was the first gif of yours I saw when scrolling down my dash, and I thought it was a gif of Jason Robert Brown. :#haha#:
- Spoiler:
It was only after seeing the gifs of Jem that I realized who it was. They're both adorable. That short film was weird though. :#lol#:

They do look alike!
I agree. They should leave the mockumentary writing to Jemaine and Taika!

When you are 20 years younger, you become very sexy..."

Bringing some more old topics to the forefront...
I hadn't seen this, and it was fun to watch. As posted (much) earlier, this was quite weird. I really dig Jonathan, then and now. :#loveeyes#:
Was it me, or was Jemaine a boy toy? It suits him well. :;

The first time I saw this thread I was in too much shock to reply.
I can't believe how young Jemaine looks, and his body language and vibe is just so different. He seem so shy, I'm not sure if its part of his character though?

I think he was actually quite shy, which now he seems to have gotten over...
His shyness was crazy attractive...but now his confidence is crazy attractive, too. I'll just sum up by saying he's crazy attractive.
