Just a quick post to concur with everyone else that this show was absolutely amazing. It was my first time seeing them live, and while I knew the guys were going to be incredible, the show was better than I had even dared to dream. Throughout the show I just sat there with the hugest grin on my face (when I wasn't bursting into laughter or cheering, that is). And the guys were so sweet to come and chat with us a bit even as they were being rushed away.

Ami, Chrissy, Courtney, Sara, Nik, and Chloe: It was so so much fun hanging out with you guys;
thank you so much for taking this awkward newbie under your collective wing. Seriously, you all made the awesomeness of the Conchords that much better.

There are no adjectives worthy of describing how tremendously phenomenal was this show.

(even though, as you can see, i tried doing so there ;
) ).

the guys seemed overjoyed to be there performing to an enthusiastic crowd in a gorgeous setting. at least, i hope that's what they felt!

i was about half way back, so i could see other flighties up in the pit section, which i thought was great because i could see them getting into the songs + guys' banter throughout the show .

eugene's set was absolutely hilarious - i am completely in love with him now!! arj was similarly funny, and both guys included some new material with some sharp social commentaries that i really appreciated.

thank goodness i did not spoil myself with the new songs - listening to them unspoiled and fresh was the best part of the show - well... that and the extra special surprises that bret and jemaine have thrown into the new show.

one little part that i thought was completely adorable was when a bug flew over and landed on one of jemaine's effects buttons. he said he could not touch it because the bug was crawling around on it, and then proceeded to suggest that the bug was a coyote.

i think i'll have to spend some time digesting my experiences at berkeley, but for now i'll post a few pics of the show + from when we met the guys after the show.

as always, the most extra special and fabulous thing about the show was spending time with other flighties - and meeting some new ones too. you all are just the best!!











after the show, as i was leaving, nigel was just leaning over the railings at the side of the stage, so i ran over and (as far as i can remember) told him how amazingly talented he was, and asked him to sign a cd insert from a wiuo album. he was so sweet, and pointed out while we were speaking that a lawrence arabia song was playing over the speakers.

afterwards we met up with other flighties and friends from the wtf forum, and waited near the parking area. after just a short while, bret came out and was so wonderful... he was bubbly and totally friendly, and signed things, and posed for nik, and was just overall fantabulous.

jemaine came out shortly after bret had left, followed closely by eugene. like bret, he was just brilliant with us, and he seemed really relaxed and happy. he called eugene over for nik (i'll let her describe that interaction - it was priceless!) and was totally happy to sign things and take pictured with us all.

just before leaving he even asked sara (luckym) if she wanted anything, and she asked for a hug!!! " title="" border="0"/>

it was just amazing!!! JUST. AMAZING!!!

This is what concerns me. They know the US audience and they feel like home there. The Europe fans have seemed to be quieter and less enthusiastic but it doesn't mean we love them any less. I hope they don't think like that about us. I think we were too much in awe to be louder during their shows and didn't want them to scare away. The only solution to that is they should tour Europe more often so we could get used to them and they to us .
