I meant 'start' as in the start of their careers, but I guess that's a hard thing to define so it's a silly question - like, the big time for them seems to have been around the HBO One Night Stand show in 2005, but I get the impression they seem to have had a fan-base way before then (that's what I thought after watching that Texas documentary, anyway ).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like they've missed out. I feel properly gutted I didn't get into them before now. I could have years ago. My boyfriend showed me a few episodes in 2010 when we first met (I distinctly remember it was "

because he loved the bit where they're both in the apartment in the dark and Jemaine asks Bret what kind of expression is on his face :#lol#: I also remember watching "

Bret GIves Up the Dream"
from back then. He used to sing "
Most Beautiful Girl in the Room"

They had a small fanbase, but personally I think of them really getting their "
start"
until after the first season of the show aired, along with their 2008 tour. But that's just my viewpoint, I'm sure it changes fan to fan.

I was first exposed to them about a week after their '08 tour finished. I had just missed out on one of their shows that was only a two hour drive for me. :#fit#: But even then it wasn't until almost a year later that I really got into them and joined the board. I know it's not the same as what you're feeling now, but I've been there and I think it has happened to other members as well.

I check every other site ever more than facebook now. :#haha#:

Anyway, we've lost some long-time members over the years and we don't get as many new members as we used to. So what used to be block party is now a more of an intimate gathering with an open front door. Which isn't a bad thing.

And hopefully 2013 will be another good year. :#pray#: We usually find enough to talk about anyway until the next bit of exciting news.

I became a fan at the end of season 2 and during their 2009 tour. I watched all the videos from their shows on YouTube. Then joined the Board and never looked back. I wish I had discovered them earlier, but I'm sure my life would look different.
I've seen them three times, twice in Glasgow and once in London.

You must have seen Eagle vs Shark movie. What do you think of the soundtrack? The band which made it is releasing a new album early next year and they're planning a UK/EU tour. How about seeing them while waiting for any FOTC tour news? :#evilgrin#: I love these guys. :#love3#:
