Yep our president is the twin of Conan O'Brien. <img src=" title="Very Happy" border="0"/> They must have been seperated at birth..

I'm overwhelmed about all of these warm welcomes, thanks! I'm looking forward to posting with you all.

The people here are the best, so I know you will have a good time. See you around the board!!!

I'm already having a blast here. Yep, I'll see you around!

FOTC fever is spreading everywhere. Maybe that'll inspire them to do some sort of tour around somewhere. *hint*Scandinavia*hint*.

when i was in high school we housed an exchange student from oslo, norway...and my ancestors were swedish. (my last name is nordstrom.) so, even tho i still know relatively nothing of the area/culture, i still feel a bit partial to scandinavians! ;<br />D

anyway, welcome!! you'll find we have HEAPS of fotc goodies here, so dig right in! i look forward to posting with you!

You're pretty familiar with the Scandinavian citizen then, hehe. I have a good friend who lives in Sweden. We're planning to go travelling together someday around Europe. Once she gets her driver's license so we can go to some road trip. That'd be interesting. We might start from Germany, that's her plan. Somewhere in the future.

Thanks for the welcome! I've already found some nice treasures from here.

I love that you are from Finland. Every time i think of Finland I think of Conan O'brien and how your guys President looks exactly like him!! hehe.

I've already had fun exploring the different locations around here and digging in and finding FOTC goodies. Perfect place for a newbie fan to get to know these two blokes better.

This is a first time that the fact of me being a Finn wakes up such excited reaction in a forum. I love it! Yep we're the country that went nuts with mania when Conan visited us. I only watched that from the TV. That was pretty crazy.

HI Johanna! Welcome, I hope you have fun here!

The first thing I thought of when I saw your name was Sweeney Todd too!

Hi, Amy, and thanks for the welcome!

Hehe those Sweeney Todd characters ... I did cringe a little when they kept singing about me.

Hello Johanna,

Welcome to the board! Glad to see you have settled in and are already posting.

Look forward to meeting you in the threads.

Sarah

P.S. I've just discovered Muse in the last week - shame on me! Smile - and have loved what I've heard so far. Any recommendations on best songs, so I can experience more? Thanks

Hi, Sarah! Yeah the overwhelming amount of welcome messages inspired me to start posting around a bit already. Smile

I look forward to posting with you.

P.S. So it's the same with you and Muse as it's with me and FOTC. Hmmm recommendations .. lemme think, I have so many favourite songs from the band so far it's always tough to decide .. well at the moment the songs that spring to mind are 'Hysteria', 'Time Is Running Out', 'Endlessly', 'Stockholm Syndrome', 'New Born' (I love it how that guitar riff kicks in after the misleading piano intro), 'Map of the Problematique' (a bit of synth there Depeche Mode-style, I love the song), Starlight (puts me on a good mood), Feeling Good (also puts me on a good mood) ... so many good ones, heh. And they're funny guys also. They have plenty of entertaining backstage material that keeps cracking me up each time. Check out a video called 'Big Day Off', for example. <img src=" title="Very Happy" border="0"/> Sweet and (loonatic) funny guys. Plenty of stuff I could recommend from them. Rock Am Ring 2004 for example is one of my favourite gigs.

Yes - and you will have as much trouble trying to get a favourites Conchords song list out of me... ;<br />D (See the "
Getting to know you"
thread for evidence) ;<br />D

Thanks for that list - just what I was looking for - I'll get back to you soon with some thoughts on these songs.

Incidentally, it was my brother pointing me towards 'Feeling Good' that started me listening to Muse. I love their cover of 'House of the Rising Sun' too!

Thanks again.

My favourite FOTC song keeps changing daily. Ah yes I should post my list to the Getting To Know You thread, too. Soon.

I'm pretty sure I forgot some recommend-worthy Muse songs from that list but if they spring to my mind I'll let you know ..

Oh yea, Supermassive Black Hole! I love the high-pitched tongue-in-cheek vocals there. <img src=" title="Very Happy" border="0"/>

Your brother likes them too? Feeling Good was a good choice. That's the best cover version of the song. *nods*

You welcome. Nice to meet another FOTC fan who also happens to be interested in Muse. My two favourites. 8-) 8-)

YEP Muse are a brilliant live band most definitely xx

P.S. Beware, you're going to get another Finn soon. My sister said she's going to join. She's a fan of Bret ever since LOTR.

Hi Jessica vol 2! Thanks for the welcome. Smile

Helsinki is my favourite city here. By the sea. Although the only thing I dislike about the town is the bully seagulls and the fear of their not-so-nice gifts that they give some poor unlucky people from above us. Ew. The last time I was in the city I felt like I was in the middle of that Hitchcock film. Scary birds.

I hate seagulls to! One summer at the beach, a seagull took my flip-flop (or jandal). I really liked them too. Bastard.

Haha that sounds like the Seagulls here in sydney. They're nice when you have food, but once you're finished eating, they turn nasty!

I'm SURE there was another Jessica that doesn't frequent the boards anymore.
I know my best friend was also Jessica C. and high school there were seven of them. and at my first job I was the only one <img src=" title="Very Happy" border="0"/>
But at this job, I'm the only Miss Jessica, but there were Two students named jessica.
