haha, WOW!! It's like we're twins!! And actually, I started on violin at 10, but stopped after high school also (well, after freshman year of college) when I switched to viola. " title="" border="0"/>
I see that you make AWESOME looking (and I'm sure tasting!) cakes!! Baking is a favorite past-time of mine, but I've never attempted anything close to what you do! Decorating Christmas cookies is the most ornate I've gotten.
Also, I saw the most recent photo of yourself that you posted and guess what?? Our hair is a similar color and length! hehe!

You play the viola? Sweet! We have another viola player on the board, caiknbake. She's been very busy though so she hasn't been around much lately, and I miss her. :-/ Actually, if I remember correctly she recently got a spot playing in an orchestra, which may be the main reason for her absence. ANYWAY... enough of my tangent. " title="" border="0"/>

Wow! Do you know which orchestra? I'm on the "

myself, but am just subbing with an orchestra right now.

It's the Redlands Symphony Orchestra. She's a SoCal girl. I hope she finds time to come back to the board soon so you two can chat!

haha, actually, those movies have always sort of creeped me out! Well, not so much with the Princess Bride because I didn't see it until a few years ago " title="" border="0"/>, but the others do. And Willow! eek! I do like all the John Hughes ones though.
I finally got my passport about a year ago, but as I said, it's unused so neither of us has traveled abroad! I lived in TX until I was 18, Baltimore for 4 years (school), then Cleveland the last 4 years (school again). Moved back to TX in August, so I've also returned to my roots! " title="" border="0"/> Yeah, I really hope that NZ takes my passport's virginity.....HAHA

haha, that flying dog thing from Never Ending Story might have creeped me out the most!
I should do that getting to know you survey sometime. ;
)
Music! BM/MM in viola performance. I sometimes regret that choice because music school is $$$ and those degrees are useless outside of music. : If I win an orchestra job, then maybe I'd change my tune....

uuughh! you are doing something I DREAMED of doing when I was in school! I realized that I lost my love for it because of my last teacher in high school...she just made me loose all faith..and I think I became bored in trying to master it. someone tried to teach me the right way but I had my own way and that wasn't working. so I dropped it...working at a job was more important " title="" border="0"/>
actually...there IS one of those surveys somewhere on the board " title="" border="0"/>

Sorry your teacher was such a poopyhead! (ohh, the ultimate insult!) I was hell bent on becoming a musician when I was in middle/high school, so any sort of negative info I heard about actually 'making it' as a musician, I shrugged off. Now I kind of wish I hadn't been so stubborn, but then again, I probably would have regretted that too. I don't teach, but think I would have a hard time teaching a kid who wants to actually go into music..."
Don't do it! There are too many musicians and not enough jobs!"
And then I'd sound kinda like your poopyhead teacher. " title="" border="0"/> Oy...so I don't teach. ;
)
Onto the survey!
