Leading on from 'the hands are nice, but...' What is it about Jemaine's non-physical attributes that rocks your world?

His voice. *melts*
I first noticed its awesomeness when I heard Jemaine's spot-on Stephen Hawking impersonation in "
Robots,"
amusingly. I'd never heard anything like that before. The man has an incredible vocal range and a damn beautiful voice. " title="" border="0"/>

I'll say his voice too. I like deep voices anyway, and he's just so damn versatile with it. He can sing just about anything in any style and make it sound good. As someone else who likes to sing, I find that really admirable. There's the accent too of course! I also like his dry sense of humor and quick wit. I really like how modest, shy and nice he seems in interviews, but that he's super confident too--he must be to be able to get up on a stage in front of thousands of people and play and sing. That kind of contrast in personality has always fascinated me.
Also, that robot bit always reminded me more of Radiohead's 'Fitter, Happier' than Stephen Hawking, but that may be just me!

Well, you can just tell from interviews and things that he's got a lot of stuff going on upstairs, you know? He's smart, and that will get me every time. It's not enough that he has those looks, that voice, is funnier than anyone should be allowed, but then he has BRAINS too? Not fair. Not fair at all.

It is most definitely the deep voice! It is just so uber-manly that one can't help but be attracted to it. Perhaps it is a carnal thing? Like "
Me woman love you man. *insert various ape noises*"
I also love his wit. He has so many short, one line jokes (or often makes them) and they are always funny in so many ways. How else can one love "
Mmmm... Steve!"
so much? And the banter between the two is always so fresh and funny that you can't help but laugh til you cry!
And, last of all, it is definitely his demeanor. He has that natural, artistic flair which explains his clothing choices, and he has the natural actor flavor where he can be this outgoing, hilarious person on stage and yet still retain he shyness offstage. It makes one realize that this guy is just a normal person even though our minds sometimes have the tendancy to blow up celebrities into these other-wordly beings.
I think it boils down to the fact that being able to express oneself in an artistic and interesting way is always just so attractive.

haha pretty much everything about jemaine rocks my world ;
) the voice, though, definitely....especially when he hits those bass notes, it just sends a shiver up my spine and i find myself inadvertantly doing the same little head-roll thing he does in "
business time,"
haha. deanna, i totally agree that it's a carnal thing...it's the reptile brain telling you to get it on! oh and angela, i totally thought of "
fitter happier"
from the robot voice, too. he is so damn talented!
and yeah, personality-wise....everything! lol " title="" border="0"/> what i really love (about both the guys, actually) is that whenever they make a mistake singing, or do something embarrassing or whatever, they just roll with it. they're cool with their own imperfections, and they don't let that get in the way of folking the world....and more often than not, they not only roll with it, but they turn it around and make it even funnier. i have SO much respect for people who are open about who they are, good or bad, and jemaine could never be anyone other than himself. he's the genuine article ;

Okay, there was sooo much to say that i didn't know where to begin, so I let you guys do the work! I do have one thing to add, just a follow on from what y'all have said. Don't know if this sounds weird but what caiknbaik was saying about rolling with the imperfections... that's encouraged me to do that myself. Its great when people you admire are so real you can identify with them, and that kind of gives you permission to be more yourself in the world.
I'm always surprised at the range of Jemaine's voice. I think its the mixture of graciousness and gentleness combined with humour that fascinates me. So many comedians are just crass. Nothing wrong with that in its place. But when you see the conchords its at a different level.

You said it better than I could, 3degrees. He's got a wonderful gentleness and dignity about him that is so different to what I usually see in most men. The general attitude amongst men in America seems to be that gentleness = weakness, but that's not true at all--not with Jemaine, I think.
He seems to me to radiate this inner strength that comes from really knowing his own peronal identity and that's always universally attractive.
. . I feel kind of weird talking about this because obviously I don't know him enough to know how accurate my observations are. Ahhh. . I don't entirely know what I'm trying to say anyway. " title="" border="0"/>

I know what you're trying to say. Yeah, we don't know him, but there's enough candid material around to know who he is, from afar. I'm always impressed by someone who operates with dignity too.
Okay, the lyrics of Business Time popped into my head when I wrote that first sentence. It's hard to think about Jemaine without hearing that voice... Oh yeah, that's it...

I LOVE his ability to be so deadpan about almost everything. That has always been my kind of humor...where noone is exactly quite sure if you mean it or not, are being sarcastic, or just plain don't-give-a-crap...UNTIL that little grin cracks and if you were lucky enough to catch it, you realise it was all in fun.
Jemaine is insanely intelligent, I think. The things he has accomplished artistically and his range in media through-out and since college is astounding to me.
I mean, really.....if I could just clone him...perfect, all around guy. I hope he realises it, too.
Perfectly multi-faceted. A true 'Jem.'

It's so abstract what I find so attractive in him....but if I were to make an attempt, I'd say it's that "
gentle strength"
he has. He's able to successfully reconcile a masculine identity with being sentimental. And the fact that he's so damn brilliant helps as well.
I would compare him to a rainforest on fire: lush, yet smoldering. *_*

Hey, I'm taken too, but I can still admire the HELL out of this fine man! His lady is very, VERY lucky and had better hold onto him tightly if she knows what's good for her!
Don't worry Ash;
Jemaine seems to have that effect on just about all of us! I don't think I've *ever* before been this wrapped up in a guy I totally don't know! My teenage superfanniness is hitting me twenty years late!

It could also be that I relate to him greatly as well. And isn't that what attraction/love pretty much is? Finding some part of yourself in someone else?

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone. I think the first thing I noticed was his voice and the range he has. Then you watch or listen to his interviews and you know he's got it going on not just in looks but upstairs as well. I'm also gonna say I love his glasses. He looks sooooo sexy in his glasses.

Yeah. I really like him with the glasses too. It kind of weirds me out to see him without his glasses sometimes. It just......doesn't look like him cause I'm so used to seeing them. =)
Also, rachel and carolbrown, I know what you mean about the "
growly voice"
!!! That drive me crazy!! So sexy!!! <

My interest in Jemaine has more or less always been platonic. He's handsome, but I like him for all of those non-physical things.
I appreciate the quickness of his wit and his insight. I'm also completely in awe of his memory. " title="" border="0"/> And he's incredibly endearing and adorable (e.g., the ernie laugh).
But really, what I love more than anything else about him is his kindness. He shows it in so many ways. It's always clear how much he cares about people.
