Blood Suckers
Sun Oct 21, 2018 4:15 pm
Hello all! I was wondering if anyone knew something more about Blood Suckers. I saw it listed on Jemaine's wikipedia page but haven't seen anything about it elsewhere.

OOooh, I love questions like this one, especially when I can answer them!
I've watched Blood Suckers during one of my trips to Ngā Taonga Sound &
Vision - New Zealand’s audiovisual archive in Wellington. I was fishing out anything that had Jemaine, Bret or Taika in it.
This is what the says about it,
At the Archive, you give a catalogue number and they check if it's available to watch. Some stuff is on VHS tapes, some are on DVDs. This one was on VHS, I think. It's impossible to get a copy, so I took some sneaky photos.
Ben Frasham (future Petyr) plays the caretaker who saves some kids

Will the two new girls survive their stay at the sinister Camp Cula health camp? The vampire staff aim to make their stay memorable - and short. Only the caretaker - careful with axe, chainsaw and stake - has other plans ...
Jemaine Clement in his first vampire role - and first film role - plays Dray Cula.
“Shot on location at Brookfield Scout Camp Wainuiomata, Bolton Street Cemetery &
a really cold house in Whitemans Valley, Wellington, New Zealand.” - End credit.

Thank you for the reply!! It's nice to know something more about it and to actually see a couple of pics from it!
Who know, maybe one day they'll release this one too, as they did with the short WWDITS film.
I am glad you got to see it!

I doubt it. The film is not listed in Jason Stutter's filmography on NZ on Screen website and he doesn't mention it on his website. But yeah, who knows, I might be surprised!

I feel like it might've been a film a couple of friends decided to make together and didn't think to do more about it than that. So I guess that's why it has never been released. But half of Jemaine and Taika's (at least early) films is just a group of friends wanting to work together and to have fun. And that is nice as well. It's just nice to know a bit more about it!

That's how I feel about it as well. Just another excuse for Jemaine to dress up as a vampire. :#haha#:

And in Taika's case, it hasn't changed much. Now he makes friends with Hollywood stars and hires them in his blockbuster movies and they still have fun. :;

I don't know who's got the rights to this movie. Maybe we should hassle the director?

Yes hassle that man. I doubt Jemaine would be any help.
