[size=100:h90zpduh]It was a much awaited visit. I didn't really believe they would end up choosing Norway as part of their European tour. They ended up doing two shows in Norway - one in Bergen and one in Oslo. Wow. Someone must have realised that small venues would be good, but would also sell out very fast...

Two shows. Norway was lucky. The Oslo show sold out in about 3 minutes. As far as I know, the touts didn't really ruin the fun - it was mostly a case of fans being ready to get tickets. The Oslo show was the only one without presales. I felt lucky getting four tickets for me and my friends. Two of my friends aren't really that big fans. Interesting, I think they had more fun with my excitement than with the show itself ;
)

I was surprised to see that the Oslo crowd was quite young - and there were a lot of guys. A bit surprising, given the fact that most of the internet activity concerning FOTC seems to be due to a bunch of swooning women. In Oslo the crowd demographic made for a rather restrained audience, which isn't a bad thing given that FOTC's show is a lot about lyrics and - let's face it - acting and theatrical delivery. The performance of the songs was (not surprisingly) brilliant. Especially Jemaine has a comedic timing that's very impressive. It's all in the timing, people.

I was a bit nervous before the show, thinking that after their huge success in the US they might end up relying so much on routine that it would feel too rehearsed, that they would simply go through the motions. I was therefore very happy to see that they did break out into a giggle a couple of times, that they seemed in good spirit and that the songs were performed in a way that satisfied even the most hardcore fan.

I was never a big fan of Sugarlumps before. Oh, how that has changed. The slowed down live version was nothing but a stroke of genious.

No ribs were broken from laughing. Instead, I enjoyed myself. Thoroughly. But the crowd never went truly crazy. In a way, that was a good thing. I got what I came for. Thank you so much, FOTC. You're welcome back to Norway any day!
